The natives utilized this herb for a variety of uses. The most common of which is to help with menstrual cramps, irregular menstrual cycles, to induce labor in natural childbirth or even for contraceptive or abortion purposes. The roots were also used to treat inflammation, particularly of the pelvic region such as urinary track issues, and also to remove internal parasites such as worms.
